[Personality]:
Bepo is a bear, though he doesn’t act like a bear too often. He’s pretty soft hearted and is easy to slip into ashamed sadness with a simple comment. His crew has often yelled at him for giving up so easy. He tends to give off a serious first impression, though stick around for a while and you’ll see a different side.

He can be a bit slothish and lazy, especially when it’s far too hot. After all, he’s a polar bear in a jump suit. Heat sucks. One scene shows him laying on the floor whining like a child over how hot the submarine was. When his two crew mates started to pick at him about his child like behavior, Bepo promptly stood up with a dark look in his face, then yelled that he would rub his sweaty fury body all over their faces until they brought the sub above water. Needless to say he won that battle, swiftly letting go and running outside as soon as they were above water. With a gasp of air, paws above his head and stretching, he looked like a man freed from a cage, taking in his freedom and fresh air for a moment.

He’s cautious though, even in this moment (though he could have been more so cautious), checking all sides to make sure no one was around. Unfortunately, as he spotted a snake on deck, he screamed in startlement and jumped back, surprised but ready for a slow defense.

Bepo has been seen making demands of Law before, telling him to close the door and to hurry up because they had to make their escape. He was mostly pushy because he was agitated and scared. After all, they were outside of a pirate battle at the time and harboring a couple of fugitives. They needed to GO. While Law was casual and interested, Bepo was mildly stressing out.

He can be a friendly and kind, a bit of a softy. When called a Beast or made reference to his appearance he will swiftly bow his head in utter sadness and apologize, giving the impression that he has some mild insecurities about his appearance. The only times he seems truly confident is around Law or in battle.

The bear can be loud and likes to party like the rest of them, though maybe not as boisterously. Again, those insecurities come into play once in a while. Still, he’s apart of the crew and enjoys having fun too. When they were at Amazon Lily he wished that the ladies of the island were bears. They would have been better as bears. Of course his crew mates all called him dumb for it, to which he bowed his head, but it didn’t keep him from mentioning it again as they left. What? Even a bear can dream, right?

He likes people and is protective, especially when it comes to someone picking on his crew, more so about Law. When he caught Straw Hat Luffy and helped run him into the sub, he was very concerned for the guys life. He looked real bad after all. He likes helping people when he can.

In short he is a bipedal bear who gets swiftly depressed when that fact is pointed out. He’s confident with his martial arts skills and is warm hearted and kind. He’s able to give orders and stick to them. He gets annoyed when people don’t follow his orders, like they feel he isn’t good enough to be ordering them around. For people who don’t know him they might think he was either stoic or very meek, depending on when they first meet him. In reality he’s a bit of a goober.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Abilities:
Bepo is a talented martial artist using a standard skill set like any other human, only he’s a big talking bear. Go figure. It’s a general set of skills and nothing devil fruit related nor is it overpowered. He’s just a normal walking, talking bear. He’s pretty fast for his size and uses his feet for fighting quite a bit. He’s pretty strong willed, able to resist a blast of Haki from Rayleigh.

Strengths:
Other than his martial arts skills he’s also a skilled navigator for the Heart Pirates. So skilled that he doesn’t even use a log pose (that we can tell). I like to think he has a connection to the seas, able to read the currents and movements. Nothing on the level of Nami, being able to feel a storm coming before it does, but animals are said to be able to sense those things. He’s sharp in this department at least.

He also has a bit of skill with cartography, able to read and draw maps of any kind, though he tends to be a bit messy when he does. If he’s taking his time and has the right tools made for his hands he’s not so bad though. That strange little island over there that looks like a paw print? Yeah, don’t try to look for it, it won't be there. Still, he’s not bad at it. He’s pretty good at drawing to boot!

Weaknesses:
His crippling insecurities about his appearance can be considered a weakness. Referred to as a beast or even a large bear and he gets depressed or sad in an instant. Pouty even. Another weakness would be the heat. He doesn’t deal with heat well. He much rather the cold than anything else. He’s a Winter on a Winter island kind of bear. Or perhaps a Fall on a Winter island type. He gets whiney and cranky when he’s over heated.

[Other Important Facts]:
♦ He liked the lady bears. It’s very sad that they are so rare (because he’d love to meet one, okay?).
♦ He doesn’t mind if Captain Law uses him as a back rest while he sleeps. It’s comfy and he’s allowed. If he likes a person, they might be allowed as well.
♦ Bepo loves sleeping on deck in the open air and comfort.
♦ He has a pretty deep voice. However when he says Hiyah! Or responds to his ♦ Captain his voice goes a bit higher up in range.
♦ He's not a doctor of a medic, but he does know his way around medical things good enough to patch a person up, but maybe not life saving in bad situations.
♦ He has a Bounty of only 500 Beli, mostly because it is believed that he's considered one of the Heart Pirates pets and not an actual member of the crew.

[It’s Bepo, sitting somewhere and whining about... well, the heat. He’s not really sitting, but more laying, sprawled out on a beach, his journal in front of him, deep voice dragging as he complained.]

Ehhhhhhh It’s hot out here. Where is everyone? Guys? Did you leave me here?

[a pause, then he lets out a loud sound that could only be a gasp crossed with a whine.] You LEFT ME HERE?! Guys!? Come on, you know I don’t like summer islands. It’s hoooot. [more whining]

[After a moment, it sounds as if his lips flapped as he blew out a long breath, the deepest sigh you could hear. He thinks he got left behind because he’s a bear.] Sorry.... sorry. Please come back and get me.

[what ever crew he was currently sailing with... he really hoped they would return for him. Little does he know they are still on the other side of the beach, settling in from the party they had last night.]
